West Granton Community Trust
The Prentice Centre
The West Granton Community Trust owns and operates the Prentice Centre on behalf of it's members. The Centre is a local Community Centre for individuals and community groups within the West Granton, Muirhouse, Pilton, Drylaw, Granton and Royston Wardieburn areas. The centre is funded through a Revenue Grant from the City of Edinburgh Council and by income generated by the Trust through a variety of sources, including lease agreements, affiliations, room bookings and fundraising activities.
Premises
As well as a variety of office spaces, the centre consists of a large hall, creche, Boardroom, Clubroom, a large multi purpose room with smaller quiet room and an external garage. The Trust also owns the West Granton Community Shop, next door to the centre, which we lease and receive a rental income. A number of other organisations are based or carry out work from the centre, these include, a Social Work Social Inclusion Base, Children and Families Department and Children and Families Youth Clubs.
